In memoriam – Marilyn Conde

In memoriam – Marilyn Conde

It is with great sadness that we share news of the sudden passing of Marilyn Conde on November 9th, 2021.

Marilyn was a founding member of the CCSA, serving as the initial board secretary in 1985 and serving in various capacities for the next 3 decades.

She was a fixture within the organization, twice serving as CCSA president 2002 – 2004 and again 2006 – 2008, as well as other board positions over the years.

In 2008, Marilyn Conde became the first CCSA member to be elected to the IAHCSMM Executive Board, as Secretary-Treasurer.

Professionally, she began her career in the 1970s as a vocational nurse, eventually becoming the Central Services Manager at St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton in the mid-1980s, later accepting a position as Materials Manager at St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood and continuing in that role for the next 26 years until retiring in 2016.

As single mother with a special needs child, Marilyn showed tremendous strength of character, balancing the many challenges of home, career and dedicated service to the sterile processing profession which shall not be forgotten.

Marilyn shall be missed by many.
