The Huddle Pyramid:
Practical methods for capturing insightful performance indicators and leveraging their value.
This presentation is designed to provide in-depth details, tools & techniques to capture data that can be used to generate valuable insight on performance trends at critical periods of the day. Discussion to include templates & examples of a successful program as a model.
Through this presentation, attendees will develop a greater understanding of:
- How to develop and implement a program using off-the-shelf tools & techniques using Microsoft office
- Process for compiling the information into meaningful Roll-up and Pareto reports
- Using the results to meaningfully express real-world conditions with senior leadership

Senior Project Manager - UCSF Health
Gene Ricupito is a healthcare professional with over 25 years of experience in healthcare and management consulting, having led engagements for numerous organizations as a consultant, project/program manager and subject matter specialist for PricewaterhouseCoopers, ISH Inc. and C&R Healthcare. His talent and capabilities as an agent for change involve design and execution of transformational strategy, connecting people with leading practices and innovative enabling technologies to create lasting results. He is currently at UCSF health in a Senior Project Manager role.
Prior to transitioning into management consulting, he has served in a range of roles focused on sterile processing and surgical services including director of implementation for Materials Management Microsystems (SPM), Perioperative Services IT administrator, SPD manager for the UCLA Health system, as well as clinical experience as a surgical technologist.
Additionally, Gene is well known as a thought leader within the international sterile processing profession, as a contributing author to the IAHCSMM’s textbooks and presenter of numerous lectures related to sterile processing in North America and abroad.

Casey Stanislaus Czarnowski, BA, CRCST, CSPDT, CIS, CER
Senior Clinical Educator - Steris IMS
With over 15 years in the discipline, Casey has held the Sterile Processing positions of Clinics Coordinator, Endoscope Reprocessing Specialist, Supervisor, Preceptor, Educator and Professor at three hospitals and two Sterile Processing school programs. Casey currently works on the Clinical Education team with Steris IMS.
Casey is a regular contributor to industry publications including The Process, Healthcare Purchasing News, and Outpatient Surgery Magazine. He has served as Education Coordinator for the California Central Service Association (CCSA). Casey writes the Educator’s Insights column for The Process. He is a past member of the HSPA Board of Directors.
Cheron Rojo, AA, CRCST, CIS, CER, CFER, CHL
Clinical Education Coordinator - Healthmark Industries
Cheron Rojo is a CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician), CIS (Certified Instrument Specialist), (CER) Certified Endoscope Reprocesser), (CFER) Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocesser, CHL (Certified Healthcare Leader), and FCS (Fellow Central Service). He served on the PDRC (Professional Development Resource Committee) for IAHCSMM, as well as the Education Director for the CCSA (California Central Service Association).
Mr. Rojo has 30 years in the Sterile Processing arena as a has a Sterile Processing Technician, SPD Educator, an Instrument Coordinator, and a Surgical Technologist in the Surgical realm. Mr. Rojo is currently one of the Clinical Education Specialists for Healthmark Industries and has been with the company for over three and half years. Mr. Rojo currently resides in Las Vegas, Nevada.
He graduated with his BS in Communication and with a certificate in Marketing in April of 2021. He graduated in 2008, with highest honors from Fresno City College with an Associates of Arts in Speech Communication specializing in public speaking and team dynamics. He is also currently on the AAMI working groups for ST79, PB70, ST91, TIR99. Mr. Rojo has also taught the CRCST and CIS courses since 2006 for new and existing Sterile Processing technicians.
Mr. Rojo has also presented to local colleges and seminars across the country for numerous organizations like; APIC, SGNA, AAMA (the American Association of Medical Assistants, AORN, CBSPD, and IAHCSMM with topics relating to the Periop arena, specializing in effective communication, and the struggles of Sterile Processing today.
Mr. Rojo is a published author in the AORN Journal and in Surgical Products. Cheron Rojo is a member of IAHCSMM and AORN and named the 2018 “Educator of the Year” by the Golden West Central Service Chapter. And he also received his (FCS) Fellowship through IAHCSMM in October of 2021 on a study regarding the issues surrounding insulation testing.He is a great advocate for nurturing education throughout the United States and believes “Attitude is Everything!”
